A week of advocacy and delivering conferences in Switzerland

What an incredible week in Switzerland!
Last week, the Switzerland-Tanzania Chamber of Commerce (STCC) embarked on a tour across Switzerland to connect with our members and partners. Represented by our Chairperson Amne Suedi Avocate Entrepreneur / Investissements en Afrique and Executive Director Matthieu Rochat, the tour kicked off in Geneva, where we had the privilege of meeting with our members JTI, Sucafina, and Oryx Energies.
On Tuesday, November 5th, the STCC, together with our founding member Life Forestry Switzerland AG, represented by Lambert Liesenberg, and our Serengeti member Wakapay, represented by George Mtemahanji, was warmly welcomed by the CCIG – Chambre de commerce, d’industrie et des services de Genève, in the person of its Director and our friend Vincent Subilia. The event featured a Market Focus dedicated to Tanzania, where Matthieu introduced the STCC, Amne highlighted the country’s diverse investment opportunities, and George and Lambert shared two compelling case studies, showcasing successful investments in Tanzania.
On Wednesday, November 6th, we visited our founding member SICPA and met with the Chambre vaudoise du commerce et de l’industrie (CVCI), as well as SERV Swiss Export Risk Insurance, to explore future collaborations.
Thursday, November 7th, took us in Bern, to State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and then to the Swiss-African Business Circle (SABC), where we had productive discussions on strengthening cooperation between our organizations.
We concluded our tour on Friday, November 8th, in Zurich, where we met with the Zürcher Handelskammer and toured the Sika site, discovering the diverse range of industries Sika is involved in. Special thanks to Patrik Horisberger for the insightful visit!
This tour was a fantastic opportunity to strengthen ties, share knowledge, and explore new ways to promote collaboration between companies in Switzerland and in Tanzania. A big thank you to all our members and partners for their continued support and hospitality!
