Last week, the Executive Director of the Switzerland-Tanzania Chamber of Commerce (STCC), Mr. Matthieu Rochat, carried out a working visit to Nairobi, Kenya.
The purpose of the visit was to strengthen ties between Swiss companies operating in East Africa by increasing the visibility of the STCC.
On Wednesday morning, Mr. Rochat had the honour of being invited by @H.E. Mirko Giuletti, Ambassador of Switzerland to Kenya, to the Business Breakfast at the Swiss Residence. This gathering offered a valuable opportunity to meet with Swiss businesses based in Kenya and to present the vision and activities of the STCC.
The STCC extends its sincere thanks to the Embassy of Switzerland in Nairobi, especially to Ambassador Giuletti, Dr. Steve Tharakan, and Magdaline Morijoi, for their warm welcome and for facilitating such an open and engaging platform.
Throughout the week, Mr. Rochat visited the offices of major Swiss companies such as Nestlé Kenya and Fracht KENYA, and held promising discussions with Novartis Sub-Saharan Africa and Andermatt Kenya Limited. These meetings were both insightful and encouraging, confirming that a regional approach is increasingly favoured by Swiss companies working across the continent.
The STCC is positioning itself as a regional facilitator, supporting Swiss businesses in their development, strategic connections, and the identification of cross-border opportunities — while maintaining a strong anchor in Tanzania.
I return to Dar es Salaam energized and committed to deepening cooperation, dialogue, and shared growth among Swiss actors in the region.
If your company is active in the EAC or considering expanding into the region, the STCC stands ready to support your next steps in Tanzania and beyond.
🤝 Together, let’s build meaningful connections across the EAC.
